Pointe de Poêle Chaud : Via corda from St. Cergue
Dimanche 7 juillet 2019

Description de l'itinéraire
Easy walk less than an hour to the Buvette at Chalet des Apprentis. From here, as advised, go directly north, or even north-east: avoid following the main grassy ridge, keep the cliffs to your left. Keep going on a not-very-clear 'path' for around 10-15 minutes and you may find the bottom of the cord!
It's just like a Via Ferrata but with a rope in place of wires, so we just used Ferrata gear. We had a rope but didn't use it, because the fixed rope seemed in reasonable condition and the route was easy. To even call it a 3a climb is a bit much: more like a T5 walk which you could do without the rope.
Don't go there if you want a serious climb, but it can add a bit of variety to a walk.
Météo
Hot
Conditions
Quite a bit of loose rock on the ridge. Some larger pieces felt a bit wobbly. Helmet advised.
Durée
Left Car 10h30
Start of the Corda 12h30 (we got lost going from the Buvette - went too high and had to descend)
End of the Corda 12h50
Back to car 14h.
