description

Triglav is the highest peak of the Julian Alps and of Slovenia. Triglav also holds the 11th place among ultra prominent peaks in Europe.

Secured routes (mountain hiking, cables)

The summit edifice is climbed by the E ridge or by the S ridge, from one of the huts. The E ridge is a true summit ridge route; the "S ridge" route less so, although also very attractive and a little less crowded.

E Ridge

S Ridge

After the NW Ridge (Plemenice) route, it is the S Ridge route that we reach (without passing a hut) to continue towards the summit.

Approach

The huts closest to the summit are: Triglavski dom (E), Dom Planika (SE) et Koča na Doliču (SW). On these documents, we find the approach routes to the huts. Note that if we use these huts or not, we must pass by one of them (or nearby) to reach the summit.

There are other mountain huts along the paths leading to those mentioned above, and there are gites (valley accomodations) at most road accesses. The links can be found on the approach routes to the huts.
