Access

Take the road out of Samoens signposted for the Col de Joux-Plane. Turn off on the right at the signpost for Les Allamands to go up the obvious valley. Drive past Les Allamands to a parking.

Ascent

Variant 1:
Follow the chemin des Chavonnes and go to the right towards the col de la Golèse. At about 1530m, still below the col, go E towards the Bottière chalets. Climb up to the NE by little valleys to reach the ridge under the Pas de la Latte. Follow the ridge to the Tête de Bostan.
Variant 2:
From the parking, follow a footpath E through the forest. At about 1500m leave the trees to reach the Bostan chalets, and then up NE to level with the Bostan Hut. From here traverse leftwards, then up to ridge to join the route from Les Chavonnes, (and also the normal route from Morzine.)
Variant 3:
From the Bostan hut, one can also go up the Verdets valley to the col de Bostan. From here, go under the Tête des Verdets and up to the summit. Descend by the crest of the Avouille.

Descent

By either variant 1 or 2. Variant 2 often has the better snow, (less sun), especially if you take the alternative path on the left below the Bostan Chalets. (This rejoins the main path at Plan, 1190m, signposted.)

remarks

A very popular tour, never technical but quite long.
Variant 1 is the more popular for ascent, assuming the road from the parking is skiable.
