Ascent

Les Aiguilles Rouges itinéraires depuis le haut des remontées mécaniques de la Flégère
Les Aiguilles Rouges itinéraires depuis le haut des remontées mécaniques de la Flégère

After the Index chairlift, take the Floria ski tow. Descend the piste slightly then make a long traverse underneath the Crochues until you turn the corner and need to put on the skins. Continue traversing to the Lac Blanc hut. From the hut go N by several small valleys to reach the base of the large gully leading up to the Col de Beugeant. Climb this finishing with a delicate traverse on rock, (crampons may be useful.)

In summer the paths to the Col de Beugeant are marked in blue from Anneuley and in orange en from Lavancheret

Descent

By the Col de l'Encrenaz:
From the col descendthe N face, keeping to the right under the Aiguille de la Persevérance to reach the Col de l'Encrenaz. From here descend the E facing cwm, keeping to the left, until Buet.
By the Bérard valley:
From the col ski down the first slope then go to the left under the Aiguille de Tête Plate. Some big snow bowls descend into the Bérard valley at the level of the Pierre Blanc hut. Ski down the valley to Buet, keeping to the true left bank in the lower part.
By Lavancheret:
Descend directly into the Bérard valley with the last part weaving between rock bands. Continue down the rest of the valley to Le Buet
