description

A very pleasant ridge on good rock leading to a proper summit, (Pte 3159).

Approach 10mins
Go up above the hut towards the "Rabbit Ears" and start at the base of these.
Route 250m vertical gain, circa 400m of climbing
Get to the Rabbit Ears by easy climbing (2/3) up a gully. Follow the ridge, climb a gully (3) then a pitch up a corner/slab 4b to reach the crest of the main ridge. Follow this mostly 3 with one passage of 4, to the summit
Descent
Climb down the gap to the left then descend the gully on the E side. There is an abseil ring to help descend the steepest part of the gully. A good path at the side of the glacier back to the hut, (cairns, yellow paint marks.)

remarks

Very little in-situ gear. For the flake pitch, 2 pegs and a sling at the belay. I peg in the next pitch
