Cette forêt de pins bristlecone (Pinus longaeva) fait partie de la Inyo National Forest dans les White Moutains. Certains de ces arbre sont parfois vieux de plus de 4500 ans : leurs formes torturées et leurs troncs façonnés par de nombreux incendies auxquels ils résistent confèrent à cette forêt une incomparable poésie pour le regard.
