The forums of camptocamp.org are an area of freedom devoted to sports and mountain activities. Everyone can express themselves, without prior registration and therefore without identification although it is recommended.
They are arranged by area and by theme: Community, In the Field, Tips and Techniques Matos, Classifieds, and Site Association
A charter set some minimum standards of common sense and courtesy to enable discussions on the forums. Thanks to everyone to respect them.

Is the identification compulsory? Why identify?
The forums are accessible without registration and without identification, consultation as to the active participation (adding messages).
Nevertheless, a identification is possible, providing access to additional functions.
If you have an account at topoguide on the old version, it is advised to use it: your identifiers have been preserved (you can change the name under which you appear-see below) .
When you are not logged in, you are considered to be "invited".

When you are logged in, you have access to:
- A quick answer at the bottom of discussion,
- The ability to initiate or respond to a survey,
- Tracking new posts since your last visit,
- An article allowing staff to present (this is not a blog)
- A mailbox for private messages (PM)
- The personal configuration of the forum: menu: Forum  >> Profile Forum

These functions are described below.

We noticed a bug bringing disconnections forums (but not the topoguide): Your name appears in the page header, but the quick answer is no longer present. In this case, it is necessary to disconnect, and then to identify those individuals. You can also keep the top of identification in a tab: just click on "connect" without disconnecting.


About the nickname: can they be changed? Two contributors can have the same
By default, the nickname is the login account c2c, but it is modifiable in its personal preferences .
You can choose to appear under your real name in the topoguide, and under your username in the forum. But rapprochement will always be in your profile.
However search engines like Google have no access to your profile: for the momenet, identified only members have access.

After changing your nickname messages you have posted before being identified retain your old nickname. It is therefore possible to change frequently alias while being identified, but the link between usernames can still be done through the list of your messages, available to all members identified from your profile.

When changing your user name, chances are it is not! Indeed, a guest or a member may not take the name of a registered member (even if not connected at this time). By contrast, two different guests may have the same nickname if that is not restricted by a contributor identified: nothing is guaranteed when is not identified.
Note that often nickname is occupied only by the alias login accounts from the previous versions. The member with this account can be used another alias on the forums of ancient sites, and may not be opposed to change its nickname. So you can ask moderation give you the account with the name if it is that you had the habit of posting on the previous versions. You can then contact the member by mail (link in his profile) to negotiate a change of nickname.


A Charter applicable? The forums moderated?
The participation in the forums is regulated by a charter, which are based moderators for their speeches.
Moderators can edit, delete or move a message or discussion.

You can also bring a message problem (spam, insults, etc.) by clicking on "Report" at the foot of the post.


How is structured forum
The forums are organized by categories. A language is assigned to each category. So by default, only the categories in the language of the user are visible in the forums (menu: Forums ).
All categories all languages is visible on this page .
The forums non-francophones are not as divided as the Francophone forums. According to the increased enrollment, classes or forums can be added.

On the home page forums, categories can be bent or folded by clicking on the [-] or [+] to the left of the name of the category.
By clicking on the name of a forum (first column), you access the list of discussions in this forum.
In the last column is a direct link to the last message posted on the forum.

In a mailing list, a forum, you can access at the beginning of the discussion (link on the title of the discussion), the last post (link in the last column), or last message unread (link "New Messages" for members identified only).
The list of discussion is divided into pages. Identified members can configure the number of discussions by page.


What order are available for a full discussion? Can we join contributors?
Discussions are visible only with a view plane. The tree view is no longer available. A discussion is divided into pages of 20 messages. Identified members can configure the number of messages per page in their profile.

The authors identified that came to the forum for less than 6mn are listed online.

The author of a message can be contacted:
For an author identified: via email or private message,
- For a guest writer: by mail if it is filled.
By clicking on the name of an author identified, we get his profile.


Can I follow unread messages?
Identified members have access to the list of discussions with at least a message that read: list of unread messages .

To avoid being overwhelmed, it is possible to mark as read forums, one by one or all of a sudden:
- Link "Mark this forum as read" footers in a forum,
- Link "all discussions mark as read" footers in the forums.


How to create a discussion?
To create a discussion, click on "New discussion" at the top or bottom of the list in a forum.
Identified members can also create polls.


How do I post a message?
Answer "fast" (for contributors identified only)
When is identified, a box of reply can be accessed at the bottom of discussion.

Answer "long" (for guests and contributors identified)
To post a message, without citing resume in the message of the discussion, click "Write a reply" at the top or bottom of discussion.
This link "Write a reply" also exists at the bottom of each message: it allows you to have direct acknowledgment of the message in the reply.
The response page contains the input area and the last 25 replies.
To post, guests must pass a test of humanity (spam) and click on the black square in the image.


How to insert a URL in a message board, or lay out my text
It is possible to introduce some formatting elements (links, bold, underlined, images ...) in messages posted on the forum. It is possible to control the proper functioning of its formatting using the "Preview" below the form.

To make connections simple, save the complete URL (do not forget the http://).

To quote a text of a message, simply select the text, then click on "Please cite the selected text." The text is copied to the answer, tags citation containing the name of the author. The multiple citations are possible.

In addition, it is possible to easily copy the name of an author to reply by clicking on "Copy nickname. Useful to discuss with a person without the pseudo complicated offense with typographical errors :-). On the other hand there is a bug at the moment: the link does not work if the name contains an apostrophe.


Can insert a Avatar and a signature? Peuto-n hide Avatars and signatures?
When is identified, we can show an avatar (small picture below the alias) and / or a signature at the bottom of this message. This is configured in your profile.
You can also set the display of avatars and signatures of other members to make them visible or not!
The maximum size of avatars is 100 pixels wide and 70 pixels high, and 22000 bytes.


How to search for old messages?
It is possible to find a message in the forum thanks to search engine .
The keyword search is possible on the title of the discussion and / or the message.
However the author search is done only on messages posted by the authors identified. But the authors of forums messages from old are considered guests , the author search is not possible on these messages.
